Expertise
Marcel has been working as a lawyer in the investment funds sector in Luxembourg since 2005. Over the last 20 years, he has been providing practical and in-depth legal and regulatory advice on the structuring and establishment of Luxembourg regulated and unregulated investment funds. Marcel advises institutional clients, family offices and fund managers in a variety of asset classes such as private debt, private equity, venture capital, real estate or infrastructure. His work relates among others to vehicles such as RAIFs, partnerships (SCS / SCSp), SIFs, SICARs and UCITS, regularly including the conducting of approval processes with the CSSF. He also assists management companies and AIFMs with license extensions, any other regulatory issues or the establishment of such entity from the start until the receipt of their license from the Luxembourg regulator CSSF. In addition, he is regularly involved in investor due diligences for his clients, including assisting them with negotiating side letter provisions.
Professional Experience
Prior to joining Dupont Partners in January 2026, Marcel gathered extensive experience in leading local and international law firms in Luxembourg.
He is a member of various professional organizations, including the Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry (ALFI) where he is actively involved in several working groups. He publishes regularly on current investment fund topics, and has been a contributor to major publications such as the Luxembourg part of the Frankfurter Kommentar zum Kapitalanlagerecht.
